Are you looking for a low-prep literacy game to target multiple phonics & writing skills? Kids will LOVE this punctuation intonation game with decodable CVC sentences. Not only will you be able to consolidate punctuation and reading expression skills (students must read the sentences with the correct punctuation intonation), but you will also be able to review and consolidate decoding skills with CVC words and sentences.
How to play:
Students take it in turns to roll the dice and move around the gameboard. Once they land on the end punctuation (.?!) they must pick up a decodable sentence card and read that sentence with the correct intonation – as a statement, exclamation or question. If they land on a pirate square, they can read the sentence with their best pirate voice!
