Are you teaching students about contractions, apostrophes and possessives? This contractions surgery resource is an engaging morphemic spelling activity which you can use to help students learn how to use an apostrophe for contractions and frequently occurring possessives.
This resource can be used in literacy rotations, morning warm ups, spelling groups or other literacy sessions in your classroom. It can also be used as a cut & paste activity.
Option 1: match the contraction words and write the answers on the recording pages
Option 2: use as a literacy rotation OR cut/paste activity. Match the contractions directly onto the mats. You could also print the mats on A3 to fit more contractions, or simply match without the mats.
8 x recording mats (black & white, colour, with or without titles) + 78 bandaid contractions to match
