CURRICULUM OUTCOMES

Australian Curriculum:

  • Name numbers in sequence, recognise numerals and connect quantities to numerals. (AC9MFN01)

  • Recognise and name the number of objects within a collection up to 5 using subitising. (AC9MFN02)

  • Quantify and compare collections to at least 20 using counting and explain or demonstrate reasoning. (AC9MFN03)

NSW Curriculum:

  • Outcomes:

    • Demonstrates an understanding of how whole numbers indicate quantity. MAE-RWN-01

    • Reads numerals and represents whole numbers to at least 20. MAE-RWN-02

  • Content:

    • Count with one-to-one correspondence, recognising that the last number name represents the total number in the collection

    • Count out a specific number of objects (from 5 to 20) from a larger collection, keeping track of the count

    • Make correspondences between collections

    • Use the term ‘is the same as’ to express equality of groups
