This resource is inside The Hive, along with thousands more, plus powerful digital tools and time-saving systems.

Are you looking for a way to consolidate subordinating conjunction skills across a range of activity types in one structured session? The Master Mission gives students a ticket with locks to unlock — each time they complete an activity, they receive a stamp or sticker on their ticket. The aim is to unlock all the locks and complete the mission. Tickets come in 3, 4, or 5 lock versions so you can adjust the number of activities required.

This resource includes two versions — one for each teaching sequence — so you can use whichever set of conjunctions your students are currently working with, or both across a unit.

What's included:

  • Version 1: I SAW A WABUB - 5 activities

    • Highlight the subordinating conjunction — 8 sentences with a bonus step to underline the entire subordinate clause

    • Add in the missing subordinating conjunction — 6 sentences with a word bank

    • Sentence match-up — match sentence halves to form complete complex sentences

    • The Camping Trip passage — highlight all subordinating conjunctions, then write two original sentences

    • Write your own — write a complex sentence using a subordinating conjunction for each image prompt

  • Version 2: A WHITE BUS - same 5 activity types with different sentences and a Puppy Adventure passage

  • Master Mission tickets in 3, 4, and 5 lock versions

  • Suggested answer keys for all activities
