Students cut out three sets of cards — subordinating conjunctions (pink), dependent clauses (green) and main clauses (yellow) — then choose one from each set and move them around to build complex sentences. Students can experiment with placing the dependent clause first or last, then record their completed sentences with correct punctuation on the recording sheet.
