Determining access to resource...
Students will love playing this card game as they learn to skip count forwards and backwards from different 3-digit numbers.

HOW TO PLAY:
  1. Decide what number students will be skip counting by e.g. skip counting by 2, skip counting by 5, skip counting by 10.
  2. Pick up a 3-digit number card, then pick up a backward or forwards arrow card.
  3. If you can skip count the next four numbers, you can keep the 3-digit number card. If you can’t, put the number card back in the pile.
  4. If you draw a CRASH card, hand any cards you have back.
  5. Winner is the player with the most cards at the end of the game.
DIFFERENTIATE this game by adjusting what number students are skip counting by.

Includes 80 different 3-digit number cards.

Also includes CRASH game cards, and arrow cards to indicate whether students should count forwards or backwards (omit the arrow cards if you’d like students to work on one particular skill).

This activity is included in The Hive's Math program for Counting Sequences with 3-Digit Numbers (Grades 1 & 2).
