Learning the various sounds that the vowel sounds make is an important early reader skill. These posters display examples of words that contain the vowel pronounced in short-form and long-form. The activity cards allow students to practise reading and making words using both of these sounds for each vowel- a, e, i, o, u.

There are three sets of activity cards:

- Using the 'magic e' to change a word from a CVC to a CVCe. This allows students to change the sound the vowel is making due to the 'magic e' at the end of the word.

- Sorting words into columns based on the sound they make- the short or long vowel sound. These cards are differentiated as one set contains the word under the image, while the other set just has the image.

- Using an image to write the graphemes to complete the word. These cards are differentiated as one set has some of the graphemes and the other set only has the image.

The posters print out 2 per A4 page.

The activity cards print out A4 in size.
