Are you teaching students to orthographically map CVC words? These decodable word games are a low-prep phonics activity which can be used to consolidate early phonics skills such as blending and segmenting of CVC words.
Students complete the following steps for each CVC word:
- Say the word
- Tap the word
- Map the word (drag counters or other manipulatives, one for each sound in the word)
- Spell the word - this could be written, or using alphabet manipulatives
