These no prep r-controlled vowel sound games are a great phonics game for Grade 1 and 2 students. Students will consolidate r-controlled vowel AR words with AR, and A spellings.
All common spellings for the /ar/ phoneme are included. IMPORTANT: Please note that this resource assumes an accent where both 'ar' and 'a' can make the /ar/ phoneme. E.g. dark, farm and path, fast.
How to play:
Students take it in turns to read one of the decodable words on the gameboard, and cover with a counter. The first student to get four words in a row is the winner.
