This game can be used in a variety of ways to consolidate r-controlled vowel air spellings:
- Use as a word sort to discover the different ways of representing the sound
- Read out a word, and students write all the possible spelling alternatives, then circle the word that looks correct.
- Read out a word, students select the correct spelling alternative, and write it in the corresponding column.
This activity can be used as a whole class, group or partner activity.
