Are you teaching consonant digraphs qu, ng + x? These low-prep decodable sentence activities will support your consonant digraph phonics lessons.
These consonant digraph word sentence pyramids cards can be used to develop phonics fluency. Students read one word at a time, progressively adding an additional word to the sentence as they go. They can use a piece of paper or clipboard to cover the lines below, particularly if the full amount of text is overwhelming.
65 decodable decodable sentence pyramids are included with:
- words with qu
- words with ng
- words with x (not technically a digraph, but included in this later sequence due to its complexity)
These cards will help students decode consonant digraph words in context. Common high-frequency words (heart words) are also included, along with tips for teaching these words.
TOP TIP: Print on thick card to avoid needing to laminate.
