Ordinal Numbers Activity with Ice-Cream Scoops

Only in The Hive
Determining access to resource...
Are you teaching ordinal numbers? This ordinal number activity can be a great consolidation activity for your ordinal number lesson. Students will love adding their ice-cream flavours!

HOW TO USE:
1. Display the ice-cream menu.

2. Students colour in the completed ice cream cone template, or cut/paste the scoops to create their own ice-cream craft. You could use crayons/pencils, tissue paper or even paint to select different flavours.

3. Students then fill out the position of each flavour using the template. E.g. My 1st scoop is caramel, my 2nd scoop is mint, my 3rd scoop is mango.
Remind students that the order of flavours starts from the first scoop which is put at the bottom touching the cone. You may want to just decorate/record one flavour at a time to avoid confusion.

Included in this resource:
- Templates with 3 or 5 ice-cream templates, with or without the ordinal numbers
- Separate templates which students can cut and paste to create an ice-cream craft
- Ice-cream menu

This activity is included in The Hive’s Maths program for POSITION: Part 2 (Kindergarten/Foundation). You'll also find plenty more position lessons & activities at hive.mrslearningbee.com.
