The Hive

This FreeBee is inside The Hive, along with thousands more, plus powerful digital tools and time-saving systems.

Are you looking for a student activity to practise ordering adjectives in a sentence? These templates give students a hands-on way to work with the 9 adjective categories — quantity, opinion, size, age, shape, colour, origin, material and purpose — in the correct sequence.

Two versions are included to suit different levels of support. Version 1 provides the adjective categories in order and students fill in their own examples for each type. Version 2 is a cut and paste activity where students sort the category labels into the correct order, then write examples for each.

What's included:

  • Version 1 - fill in the blanks: adjective categories provided in order, students write examples for each type

  • Version 2 - cut and paste: students sort the 9 adjective category labels into the correct order, then write examples for each

  • US spelling version included
