Open & Closed Signs - Classroom Management Tool

Free
Determining access to resource...

This is a great tool for classroom management- it helps to manage all those endless comments and questions that our little humans love to ask us!!

How to use:
Turn the sign to ‘Closed’ when you are giving instructions or not wanting students to interrupt with comments or questions. Once you have finished explaining a task or concept, switch the sign to ‘Open’ and the students can ask their questions.

Exceptions:
My students know that an ‘emergency’ will override the open/closed system. For us, an emergency is one of the ‘3 Bs’- are you busting, belly-aching or bleeding?!

Two fonts are included. You can either:

  • Stick back to back and then hole punch holes to add ribbon or elastic to hang it. Turn as required.

  • Display both and use a clothespin, peg or arrow to show which sign is in use.
