These Nailed It Not Yet templates can help to develop a growth mindset as students are developing their phonics knowledge.
HOW TO USE THESE SIGNS WITH DECODABLE WORDS OR SENTENCES:
1.All the sentences (or words) start in the NOT YET box, bag or envelope.
2.Students pull a sentence out, read it, turn it over and write it on their whiteboards.
3.Students then check to see if they wrote it correctly. If they did, they put the sentence in their NAILED IT box or bag. If they made an error, they put it back in their NOT YET box or bag.
4.Students continue until they’ve moved all the sentences into the NAILED IT box or bag. This may take them a few sessions.
