Are you looking for a hands-on task card activity to help students apply their understanding of halves, quarters, and eighths using Unifix cubes?

Students build a cube tower to the number specified on the card, then work out how many blocks make each fraction of that tower — answering questions involving eighths, quarters, halves, and wholes. Tower sizes across the 16 cards range from 8 to 40 cubes, giving students practice with a variety of whole numbers that divide neatly into eighths.

What's included:

  • 16 task cards — tower sizes of 8, 16, 24, 32, and 40 cubes, each with 4 fraction questions covering eighths, quarters, halves, and wholes

  • Colour and black and white versions included
