Are your students learning to follow directions and explore simple maps? These Find the Landmark templates will be a great addition to your position and mapping lessons.
How to play:
Students pick a card with a landmark on it and explain where the landmark is to their partner using prepositional language e.g. “The landmark is to the right of the barn”. The partner must figure out the landmark (e.g. the windmill). For every correct landmark, the students get a point.
Includes 6 farm maps with matching landmark cards.
This activity is included in The Hive's Math program for Position: Exploring Simple Maps (Grades 1 & 2).
