Are you looking for a figurative language game that keeps students engaged while they practise writing their own sentences using similes, metaphors, personification, hyperbole and imagery? Players roll two dice to find a noun on the game board, then create a sentence using that noun and the assigned figurative language type. Place a counter if successful — first to get four in a row wins!
Two sets are included. Set 1 has the figurative language type labelled on each noun, so students know which device to use. Set 2 shows nouns only, leaving the choice of figurative type open — useful for more independent practice or when students are familiar with all five devices.
Both sets include black and white versions and a recording template.
What's included:
Set 1: 6 game boards with nouns and figurative language type labels
Set 2: 6 game boards with nouns only
Black and white versions of both sets
Recording template for both sets
