Pose the question: Which is your favourite pet out of a dog, cat, fish, rabbit or bird? Go through each possibility one at a time, and remind students to only put their hand up for one (alternatively they could do quick drawing on their mini whiteboard of the pet they choose, and hold up when asked)

Teacher puts a line next to each animal for each vote and students copy along on their worksheet. (Use teacher discretion if whole class is ready for correct tally marks).

How many people like dogs the best?
How many people like cats the best?
Which is our least favourite pet?
Which is our favourite pet?

Also includes blank versions where students can add their own animals to collect data about, as well as versions with US spellings.
