Are you looking for a no-prep phonics game for your Kindergarten classroom? Students will love building real and nonsense CVC words and CVCC words to develop their decoding skills.
Nonsense words are a great way to ensure that students are focusing on the sounds, not just memorising words by sight. With this activity, students use different manipulatives (such as magnetic letters) to place consonants in front of a word ending. They then decode the words and sort into the real column or the nonsense column.
