Coordinating Conjunctions Board Game

The Hive

This resource is inside The Hive, along with thousands more, plus powerful digital tools and time-saving systems.

Get students practising coordinating conjunctions with this board game. Players roll the die, move their counter, then pick a sentence card and improve it by adding a coordinating conjunction — joining two simple sentences like "The path was steep. I walked slowly." into "The path was steep so I walked slowly." Some cards prompt players to move forward or back a space, keeping the game moving.

The recording template lets students write both the original sentence and their improved version, making it easy to use as an accountability tool during small group or independent work.

What's included:

  • Board game in colour and black & white

  • 4 pages of sentence cards for students to improve with a coordinating conjunction, including "Move forward one space" and "Move back one space" cards

  • Sentence recording templates in colour and black & white
