Are you looking for a low-prep way to help students work out missing ch, sh, th and wh words in context, then practise handwriting by tracing the completed sentence? Students will consolidate early letter sound knowledge, phonics skills and early sentence conventions as they decode consonant digraph words in the context of decodable sentences.
Students use the picture support and sentence context to figure out each missing digraph word, then trace the full sentence to reinforce both decoding and letter formation.
14 sets of sentences are included in total, split into 7 sets of words with 3 sounds and 7 sets of words with 4 or more sounds, so you can match the difficulty to where your students are at.
What's included:
Ch/sh/th/wh sentence worksheets, split into 7 sets at 3 sounds and 7 sets at 4+ sounds, each with picture support for the missing word
Answer cards to check work independently or use for self-correction
All Australian fonts + generic font
Extension ideas:
Write the decodable sentence on mini whiteboards or in your writing books
Add an adjective
This activity also comes in a task card format!
