Are you looking for a way to consolidate cause-and-effect skills across a range of activity types in one structured session? The Master Mission gives students a ticket with locks to unlock — each time they complete an activity, they receive a stamp or sticker on their ticket. The aim is to unlock all the locks and complete the mission. Tickets come in 3, 4, or 5 lock versions so you can adjust the number of activities required.

Five different activities are included, covering identifying, completing, matching, and applying cause-and-effect statements at the sentence and text level.

What's included:

  • Underline the cause & highlight the effect — 8 sentences for students to annotate

  • Missing cause or effects — 6 incomplete statements with a word bank for students to add the missing cause or effect

  • Sentence match-up — match each cause to its correct effect

  • Fixing the Car passage — a short text containing cause-and-effect statements throughout; students highlight all examples then write two of their own

  • Write your own — students write their own cause-and-effect statement using each of the four linking words (because, as, since, so)

  • Master Mission tickets in 3, 4, and 5 lock versions

  • Suggested answer keys for all activities
