Are you teaching students when to use C or K at the beginning of words?

This phonics poster is a great way to reinforce phonics knowledge for when C or K is used at the start of words, using a CAT or a KITE to illustrate it.

  • C takes a, o and u - and makes a CAT

  • K takes i and e - and makes a KITE

Two wordings are included:

  • K takes i and e, C takes the other three.

  • C takes a, o and u, K takes the other two.

This poster also comes in a black/white version.
