This resource is inside The Hive, along with thousands more, plus powerful digital tools and time-saving systems.

This teaching slides resource introduces bullet points and numbering and explores when to use each to list items or show a sequence of events. The slides cover the difference between the two forms - bullet points for non-sequential lists and numbering for ordered steps - as well as key punctuation rules such as using colons, capital letters, and full stops appropriately.

Practice slides give students the chance to apply their understanding through a range of task types.

What's included:

  • Introductory slides on bullet points vs. numbered lists, including warm-up prompts and key punctuation rules

  • Example slides covering when to use bullet points (items, ideas, features) and when to use numbering (instructions, recipes, sequential steps) - each with worked examples

  • 12 practice slides including writing lists, step-by-step modelled examples (I Do/We Do/You Do format), deciding whether bullet points or numbers best suit a scenario and independent review questions
