- Both players decide on a colour.
- Player 1 rolls two dice – the two numbers that they roll will form their array. They can decide which one is the ‘rows’ and which is the ‘columns’.
- Player 1 begins in the top left corner and outlines the grid paper to draw their array, using their assigned colour. They colour in the box and label their area e.g. 2 x 5 = 10 or 2 rows of 5 = 10
- Player 2 follows the same process, but begins their first array in the bottom right corner.
- Continue rolling and adding arrays. Optional extra rule: all future arrays need to be touching an existing array on one side.
- If there isn’t enough room for a player to create an array, they lose a turn.
- At the end of the game, the player with the most boxes on the board wins.
