EDITABLE Writing Goals - Individual Student Learning Goals

These EDITABLE writing goals are a great formative assessment and visible learning tool. Over 150 writing goals are included. They are a fantastic way to help students take ownership over their own learning and set individual goals to improve their writing.

For the individual goal slips:

Print off these goal slips as part of a class writing goals display or stick them on student desks or in their writing books. Tick off as students reach their goal. Once they have 3 or 5 ticks (depending on which template you choose) they can choose a new goal.

Goals appropriate for students from K-4 are included across a range of areas:

• Emerging Writing Skills
• Grammar and Punctuation (including sentence structure)
• Vocabulary
• Ideas, Text Structure and Literary Techniques
• Re-reading and editing
• Handwriting
• Spelling, Phonics, and High-Frequency Words

Over 150 writing goals are included so far.

An EDITABLE PowerPoint file is also included where you can edit the wording to create your own goals.
