Are you teaching syllables? These syllable box cards can be used to consolidate an understanding of syllables, by getting students to physically manipulate objects in order to identify the number of syllables.
Some ideas for using these task cards:
- Use loose parts (e.g. stones, shells, pom poms) to count out the number of syllables.
- Use double-sided counters to count out the number of syllables. Then get students to turn over each counter as they say each syllable.
- Use playdoh balls to count out the number of syllables, then get students to press down on each ball as they say each syllable.
150 task cards are included for words with 1, 2, 3 and 4 syllable words.
A word list for all 4 sets of words is also included.
