Ow Sound Words Game

Are you teaching the ow sound and looking for engaging, fun literacy games with ou sound words and ow sound words? Use these diphthong worksheets as a low-prep literacy center to consolidate an understanding of diphthong spellings.

 This game can be used in a variety of ways to consolidate ow and ou spellings:

• Use as a word sort to discover the different ways of representing the sound
• Read out a word, and students write all the possible spelling alternatives, then circle the word that looks correct.
• Read out a word, students select the correct spelling alternative, and write it in the corresponding column.
