With an engaging oceans theme, this game is designed to help children understand the concept of missing addends when adding two numbers up to 10.
How to play:
Pick up a task card and work out the missing addend - how many more starfish are needed to make the number in the fishbowl? Find the answer on the gameboard and cover with a counter. Winner is first person to fill their entire gameboard, or first to get X number of counters in a row.
Optional extra scaffold for students who need extra support:
Use the fish bowl + starfish counters to find the missing addend. This could be used in conjunction with the gameboards, or as its own activity.
