Long Vowel Sounds Phonics Activity - Phonics Hexagons

Are you looking for low-prep decodable sentence activities for your Kindergarten and Grade 1 phonics lessons? These long vowel sound hexagons are a fun and engaging way to develop phonics knowledge of the long vowel phonemes:

• long vowel e
• long vowel o
• long vowel i
• long vowel u

Students are given the grapheme in the middle of the hexagon, and must write all the matching words on their whiteboards. As an extension, see if they can think of additional words which use that spelling pattern.
