EVIDENCE-BASED WORD WORK ACTIVITIES

These templates contain a range of evidence-based word work activities which can be used with any words. 

These activities include:

• Break up the word into sound boxes
• Underline or highlight all the different sounds
• Break the word into syllables
• Break up the word using sound notation
• Identify any prefixes, suffixes or base words
• Think of rhyming words
• Break up the word using different colours for each sound
• Put the word in a pyramid, one sound at a time
• Identify other ways of spelling the phoneme
• Identify the number of letters and number of sounds
