This 6 star writing checklist can help students learn how to begin re-reading and editing their writing. Students check their writing against each of the stars and edit where required using the different colours.
The 6 stars represent:
RED: My writing makes sense
GREEN: I have used capitals in the correct places
PURPLE: I have used correct punctuation
YELLOW: Spaces between words
PINK: Handwriting OR Spelling (pick the one that suits you)
BLUE: Wow words (this could include adjectives, adverbs, similes etc)
