Are you looking for no-prep phonemic awareness and phonics games for teaching segmenting skills with CVCC words and CCVC words? These Roll & Cover mats can be used in two different ways to develop early phonemic awareness and phonics skills, with oral and written segmenting of CVCC CCVC and CCVCC words.

These Roll & Cover mats can be used in a variety of ways to target different skills - use with different levels of students, or at different points of the teaching year.

Level 1: Segment the word

Students roll the dice and orally segment the word before placing a counter on top.

Level 2: Write the word

Students roll the dice and write the word on a mini whiteboard or piece of paper before placing a counter on top.
